It was be no Swiss Rollover
Northern
Ireland’s two newest kickboxing stars return undefeated from
their first ever international meet in Switzerland. The pair –
Bill Morrow and Philip Parker – both walked away with commendable
draws in their bouts on Thursday in Geneva.
Morrow pushed a tough Tunisian fighter Fathallah all the way in
his
encounter and was unlucky not to take the tie, and Parker also looked
a fine shout for the future as he battled hard against Michael Zuber
from Geneva. The pairs coach Billy Murray was delighted with their
performance.
"They were outstanding in very tough circumstances," he
said. "They
both
took the fights at short notice, flew straight to Geneva and had
little time to properly prepare for what is a very intimidating
International event. "I’m delighted that both of them
return undefeated because let me tell you – a draw there is
as good as a win at home. That event picks the cream of the amateur
crop from across Europe and my lads can
hold their heads high. They need to knuckle down now and get back
to training for the Kickmas Box."
